CINCINNATI (June 11, 2018) — UC Health’s West Chester Hospital has again been named among the top workplaces in Cincinnati by The Cincinnati Enquirer.

This is the fifth year – and third consecutive year – West Chester Hospital has been named to the newspaper’s Top Workplaces Cincinnati list, which recognizes companies with the most engaged, satisfied workforces. West Chester Hospital was the only hospital recognized among companies with 500 employees or more.

The hospital employs more than 1,200 people and is routinely named a top workplace in Ohio by other publications as well, including Ohio Business Magazine and Venue/LEAD Magazine.

“Fostering a strong workplace culture is among the most important things that we do, because we know that compassionate, patient-centered health care begins with employees who have a personal commitment to carrying out that mission every single day,” said Tom Daskalakis, chief administrative officer for West Chester Hospital. “We are proud that our clinicians and employees consistently say that this is a great place to work.”

The recognition is based upon the results of an employee feedback survey administered by Energage, a third-party research firm that specializes in workplace health and organizational improvement. The firm uses the responses to measure several aspects of workplace culture to determine its rankings.

“I really enjoy the people I work with every day,” one employee told the Enquirer. “They make work less stressful with their positive attitude and help with patients.”

West Chester Hospital has also been named among the 50 Best Workplaces in the state by Ohio Business Magazine. The magazine accepts nominations only from an organization’s own employees, and 2018 was the second consecutive year the hospital was named to the list.
