PUBLIC INVITED TO GRAND OPENING OF ADVANCED THERAPY CENTER SHOWCASING THE LATEST REHABILITATION EQUIPMENT IN THE REGION
Butler County enters a new era in healthcare with the grand opening of the Advanced Therapy Center at Chesterwood Village on Thursday, April 11 from 4-8 p.m. An official ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30 p.m.
The public is invited to tour the West Chester-based $22 million 110,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. Intended for inpatients, outpatients and community wellness initiatives, the center has the most progressive equipment in the Tri-State. It employs advanced technology such as virtual reality to strengthen muscles, promote physical endurance and maintain well-being.
“This new center complements the advancements in top quality medicine that have been established along the I-75 corridor by the Tri-State’s leading healthcare providers,” says Greg Dixon, facility owner and representative of the Dixon Family. “We have invested in top-tier professionals and the best rehabilitation equipment available in the U.S. so that we can partner with hospitals to be the destination point for quicker recoveries and quality outcomes.
Since 1964 the Dixons have owned and operated the three senior living facilities that comprise the Hillandale Family of Communities—Birchwood Care Center, Chesterwood Village and Doverwood Village.
Those who attend the grand opening can view all the cutting edge rehabilitation equipment and meet the staff. Tours also include the new community wellness center which will offer public classes such as yoga and tai-chi, a speech therapy and hearing center and a sample luxury suite for post-hospital rehabilitation patients.
Among the equipment and specialty services to view include:
- A HydroWorx pool used for injury recovery or muscle strain. An underwater treadmill and water jets create the right amount of buoyancy to produce low-impact resistance helpful to recovery. The floor moves to achieve just the right height. Underwater cameras enable exercisers to view their progress on screens. There are only two others in the Tri-State. The next closest is in Columbus.
- Cyber cycles using virtual reality. Studies indicate its use slows down dementia and cognitive decline.
- C-Mill designed for inpatients and outpatients with a weight lift design for lower functioning patients and balance training using virtual reality for fall prevention.
- Armeo Spring and Senso for inpatient and outpatient neurological and upper extremity orthopedic patients using virtual reality.
- Biosteps to strengthen cardiovascular endurance for inpatient, outpatient and wellness.
- Muvi and FES strengthening equipment for the wheelchair-bound and patients experiencing conditions such as MS. It electrically stimulates targeted muscles. It’s ideal for inpatient, outpatient and wellness.
The professionally decorated building features cozy fireplaces, a special grab and go café area for visitors, and an elegant dining room for inpatients experiencing rehab. The building houses 74 patient rehabilitation suites and 51 long-term nursing suites on the opposite end of the building that will be known as the Darby Place Nursing Center.
The Advanced Therapy Center grand opening offers valet parking and artisan snacks. It is located adjacent to Chesterwood Village off Tylersville Road at 7924 Chesterwood Blvd. Reservations are not necessary. For additional information about the event phone Jane Gegner at (513) 326-0040.
