Free Women’s Self-Defense Seminars at West Chester Hospital
 
West Chester, OH (Nov. 7, 2017) - UC Health’s West Chester Hospital is empowering women through a series of Free Women’s Self-Defense Seminars on Nov. 10, 11, and 17.  These hands-on classes are designed to give women of all ages the fundamental skills to defend themselves in the event of an attack.
 
Instructor Chris Sharp will lead each two-hour session. A 10-year veteran of the police force, Sharp is a police officer with the West Chester Hospital Public Safety Department and is a first degree black belt with more than 15 years of martial arts experience. Women participating in the seminar will learn:
 
  • Choke & Grab Defense
  • Sexual Assault Defense
  • Situational Awareness Techniques
  • Simple Strategies for Escape
 
The seminar is presented in a relaxed environment, on a soft matted floor.  Participants should expect the experience to be moderately physical. Participants are also encouraged to wear comfortable, flexible exercise clothing. Please do not wear jeans or large jewelry.

             Saturday, Nov. 11: Sessions offered at 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
             Friday, Nov. 17: Sessions offered at 5:30 p.m. and  7:00 p.m.
