City of Mason currently accepting bids

Mason, OH – The City of Mason’s farm properties lease ended in December 2017. The City staff is currently soliciting bids for the approximate 300 acres of city owned agricultural property. The bid opening is scheduled for January 9, 2018. This contract with be a three (3) year contract for the 2018, 2019, and 2020 crop season.

Additionally, City staff is in the process of soliciting electric bids for all city owned facilities, parks, traffic signals, and street lighting. This will be a three (3) year contract, commencing in May of 2018 and ending in May of 2021. Due to the buildout of natural gas pipeline infrastructure in the Appalachian region, and the additional availability of natural gas due to fracking, staff anticipates a lower price than our existing contract.

Finally, the City’s current contract with our soft drink provider, Pepsi Cola, is ending March 31, 2018. Staff will be requesting proposals from Pepsi and from Coke, to supply soft drinks to all city owned facilities, including parks, MCC, and Golf Center. This will be a three (3) contract, with a possible two (2) year extension.
