City of Mason celebrates Independence Day at 2018 Red, Rhythm & Boom

The City of Mason is celebrating the anniversary of our nation’s independence with the annual Red Rhythm and Boom event for the community to enjoy! The event will take place on Tuesday, July 3 at the Mason Municipal Center and Community Center campus. This FREE event is an opportunity for the City to celebrate the patriotic holiday, thank our residents and business owners, and promote all of the benefits Mason has to offer. The event begins at 4 p.m. with access to kids zone activities and a wide variety of food and adult beverage options.
A patriotic skydiving exhibit presented by Start Skydiving, LLC will kick off stage activities at 5:45 p.m. The concert will begin shortly after with an opening performance by Five For Fighting followed by the headline performance at 8:30 p.m. featuring The Fray! The event will conclude with a 25 minute fireworks show at 10 p.m.

- 4:00 p.m. - Event Begins: Kids Zone and Vendors Open
- 5:45 p.m. - National Anthem and Sky Dive by Team Fastrax
- 6:00 p.m. - Five For Fighting Performs
- 8:00 p.m. - City Council Welcome
- 8:30 p.m. - The Fray Performs
- 10:00 p.m. - Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks Show
The event will feature kids zone activities and attractions such as a zipline, extreme air trampolines, interactive inflatables, a climbing wall, bounce houses, carnival games and more! Kid zone wristbands are available for pre-sale purchase for $5 at Mason Community Center, Lou Eves Municipal Pool, and Mason Municipal Center through July 2. Kid-Zone Wristbands will be available for $10 on the day of the event. All wristband proceeds will benefit Mason Parks & and Recreation Foundation’s goal of building the all – inclusive Common Ground playground in Mason.
For safety purposes, Lakeside Drive between Mason-Montgomery Road and Foxfield Drive will close at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3. Beginning at 4 p.m. until midnight, Mason-Montgomery Road will be closed from Foxfield Drive to Lakeside Drive. Detours for local traffic will be provided. Access to Lakeside Drive will be maintained from Mason-Montgomery Road, south of Lakeside Drive.
Mason Community Center will be open from 5 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 3 and will be open 6 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 4. The City of Mason offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 3 and Wednesday, July 4. Lou Eves Municipal Pool will be open with normal operating hours from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3.
