Learn about some important concepts in probability and how they apply to slot machines. You'll find that while individual players are gambling, the Law of Large Numbers guarantees that casinos are not! Robert B. Davis is an associate professor of statistics in the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. He has been with Miami University since 1992. His interests include statistical process control, applied probability, and probability aspects of sports and games.
