Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EDT

Event Description:

We invite you to a Reason to Hope to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, the Alzheimer’s Association and its significant impact in the fight against the sixth-leading cause of death and the most expensive disease in our nation. Today, Alzheimer’s disease has reached epidemic proportions, affecting an estimated 5.8 million Americans and costing our nation $290 billion, but the Alzheimer’s Association is leading the way in research, advocacy, awareness as well as caregiver education and support.

Matthew Baumgart, Vice President of Health Policy for the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement, will discuss how the Alzheimer’s Association has been able to help increase annual federal funding for Alzheimer’s research from less than $600 million in 2014 to $2.3 billion today. Mike LaRosa, CEO for LaRosa’s Pizzeria and Keith Mitchell, Director of Marketing for Kunimura Mitchell & Company CPAs will also share their personal connection to the disease.

Join us on Monday, August 5 for a complimentary lunch and learn how you too can make a difference. Alzheimer’s and related dementias have devastated millions of lives, but that’s all going to change when we find the first survivor. But we won't get there without you. Will you join us?

Can't make it for lunch? The same program will be presented earlier the same day, Monday, August 5, from 8-9 a.m. at Cintas Center on the campus of Xavier University.

There is no charge to attend. Guests will be asked to help address the growing needs of our community. Please RSVP at 2019RTH.eventbrite.com
