“How Dare the Sun Rise: Memoirs of a War Child” is the inspiring true story of Sandra Uwiringiyimana, a women’s rights activist, refugee advocate, and author from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who survived a massacre and lived to tell the story. She tells her tale of survival, immigrating to America, and overcoming her trauma through art and activism. In this powerful presentation, Uwiringiyimana speaks to questions of human rights and refugee policy in today’s turbulent world.
