Event Description:
On Friday, December 7 join the community in celebrating the beginning of the Christmas in Mason season with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Mason’s Downtown Plaza. This event is free and open to the public to enjoy!
Prior to the activities beginning on the plaza, join the Mason Public Library at 6 p.m. for Holiday Storytime! Children and adults of all ages are welcome to join the Library in a story time sing along to all the Holiday classics such as Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and more! Registration is not required, and participation is free.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at the Mason Downtown Plaza! Join your neighbors for Holiday music, activities and crafts, FREE photos with Santa, food and refreshments, adult beverages provided by the American Legion, ice-less skating, trackless train rides, a live nativity, and best of all the official lighting of the Christmas tree!
The Tree Lighting Ceremony is also the kickoff to the newly established Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area in Downtown Mason. Stop in to your favorite serving establishment in the DORA district to enjoy an adult beverage then head to the Downtown Plaza for Holiday fun! Road Closures
For safety reasons, West Main Street from the intersection of US Route 42 to North Forest Avenue and North West Street from the intersection of US Route 42 to Church Street will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 7 until the conclusion of the event. Detours will be provided. Please use caution and allow for additional time when traveling through this area.
