AREA PROGRESS COUNCIL to host 35th Annual Economic Outlook Breakfast
 
            The Area Progress Council will host the 35th Annual Economic Outlook Breakfast Tuesday, November 20 from 7 AM to 9 AM at the Manor House in Mason, Ohio. Reservations are required. Contact Arla Tannehill 513.932.8228 or info@apcwc.org
 
            The speakers Bob Koehler, Jonathan Sams and Dean Morrissey will address current and future trends related to growth and regional development.  
 

Robert W. Koehler, P.E. joined the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) in October of 1985 and was named OKI Deputy Executive Director in January of 2006. He is primarily responsible for transportation planning functions of the agency including the Transportation Plan, TIP, Work Program, Project Prioritization Process and special studies. Prior to starting with OKI, Mr. Koehler served as design engineer for the L.B. Foster Company and Kaiser Engineers.
 
During his tenure with OKI, Mr. Koehler has served as the project manager for multiple transportation studies including the Campbell County Transportation Study, the Northwest Butler Transportation study, the Uptown Transportation study, the I-471 Corridor study and the 2040 Transportation Plan.
 
Mr. Koehler has served as the chair of the Ohio Association of Regional Councils (OARC) Transportation Subcommittee and is currently serving as vice chair of the Kentucky MPO Council. He is also a board member of Butler County Transportation Improvement District.
 
Mr. Koehler is a registered professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky.
 
 Jonathan D. Sams is an entrepreneur’s and business leader’s attorney who helps guide businesses through complex legal, governmental, political and business environments. He focuses his representation on helping clients set business, personal and financial goals and developing a plan to achieve those goals. In addition, Jonathan has extensive experience working with information security and privacy. He worked in signals intelligence at the National Security Agency and held a top secret/SCI clearance.
 
As a Turtlecreek Township Trustee, Jonathan has experience in developing effective approaches for using government financing tools. He advises private and governmental clients as to coordination of projects between governmental agencies and private enterprises to achieve financing goals.  
 
Jonathan served as an active member of the U.S. Navy from 1987-1991 as a cryptologist and Persian Farsi linguist and was on inactive duty from 1991-1995. He was deployed to the Persian Gulf four times. Jonathan was awarded the Naval Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Naval Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Ribbon (with one bronze star), Southwest Asia Defense Medal (with two bronze stars), Nation Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia) and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait). He served as an aide to Congressman Bob McEwen (R), 6th District Ohio.
 
Jonathan earned a J.D. from Emory University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati, College of Business Administration. He also earned a B.A. from the University of the State of New York in literature and Persian Farsi. He graduated with honors from the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, Calif.
 
Jonathan is a member of the bar of the Federal District Court, Southern District of Ohio, Ohio State Bar Association and Warren County Bar Association. He is vice chair of the board of trustees of Cincinnati Christian University and a board member of the Cincinnati Christian University Athletic Boosters and Cincinnati Christian University Foundation. Jonathan is a trustee and executive committee member of the Ohio Kentucky Indiana Regional Council of Governments. He sits on the board for the Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Warren and Butler County CDC, Warren County Technical Rescue Team, JEDD Board for Miami Valley Racino, Area Progress Council of Warren County, I71/SR123, and Center for Church Leadership (An Eli Lilly funded national initiative). He is president of the board of trustees for Turtlecreek Township and Aruna Project. Jonathan is past president and former board member for Mason Kiwanis. He is also a former trustee for Mason Christian Village and Mason Christian Village Health Care. Other community activities and boards he has served on include the Cincinnati Ballet, Festivals of Mason, West Chester Chamber Alliance and Fairfield Church of Christ. He has been recognized by Cincy magazine as one of Cincinnati's Leading Lawyers from 2009-present. 
 Dean K. Morrissey, Managing Partner for the Millennium Real Estate Group, LLC and New Urban Development Partners has been involved in real estate sales and development spanning over 30 years. 
 
Starting in 1984 and through 1989 he served as Vice President for Oxford Development in Oxford, Ohio as a Partner in the development, construction, marketing and finance of Oxford Commons and Miami Commons, two student condominium projects at Miami University.
In late 1989 Oxford Development was involved in the marketing and development of Secession Golf Club, a nationally renowned private golf club in Beaufort, SC.  After being involved with the development of the golf club he became a Broker and Marketing Director for Brays Island Plantation, an exclusive private residential community in Sheldon, SC from 1992 through 1998.
In 1998 the group started The Ford Plantation, a private sporting community near Savannah, GA and acted as the Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the community.
In early 2000, with additional partners they formed Millennium Real Estate Group, LLC as a managing partner in the development and ownership of multifamily, commercial, retail and healthcare projects in Port Royal, SC and in 2013 partnered with Bob Turner as a Managing Partner in New Urban Development Partners, LLC, master developer for Union Village, a 1,200 acre new urbanism residential and commercial development for Otterbein Senior Homes in Lebanon, OH.
 
He graduated from Colby College, Waterville, ME in 1979.  Active in the local Beaufort community as the past YMCA Board Treasurer and currently on the YMCA finance committee.  Past member of the Beaufort County Advisory Board for affordable housing.  Hi is a member of the Beaufort Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee and served as the coach of the Beaufort County American Legion baseball team from 1990 through 1997.
